A special highlight is the ability to pair two phones at the same time and operate them in parallel. When streaming music wirelessly via A2DP, the AVRCP 1.6 profile is used with extended control and search functions including integration of existing information on title, artist, album or genre.

The "Music Mix" function allows up to 5 smartphones to be connected to the car radio at the same time as a Bluetooth audio source and to switch back and forth between the A2DP streams of the individual players at any time. This can be done either using a button on the Kenwood car radio or simply by starting the smartphone music player. Switching between the different audio players takes place without delay.

With the DSP of the KMM-BT508DAB, the sound in the car can be improved in many ways. The equalizer with 13 bands, for example, allows vehicle-specific increases or decreases in the frequency response to be compensated for, thus ensuring a harmonious sound. The digital time-of-flight correction makes it possible to compensate for the influence on the acoustic spatial image caused by the speaker position.

The Kenwood Remote app turns compatible Android smartphones into a comprehensive remote control for all Kenwood Bluetooth car radios. The app is controlled via large touch buttons or voice control for basic commands such as pause or track skip. The VA-LC display of the KMM-BT508DAB offers a significantly higher contrast compared to conventional TN displays and can be easily read from all positions. By dispensing with an integrated CD drive, the installation depth of this media receiver could be reduced to just 100 millimeters. This means that the car radio can also be used in vehicles with particularly limited installation space or for hidden installation, for example in vintage cars.
